Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County (LVCC)

Join us on Wednesday, June 25th at 5:00pm for a presentation about the Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County. LVCC is dedicated to fostering literacy and lifelong learning throughout our community. Our mission is to provide free, accessible education programs for adult learners, empowering them to achieve their academic and personal goals. Whether individuals are pursuing a GED, enhancing their basic education skills, or learning English as a second language, our tailored tutoring services help them succeed.
A key component of LVCC is our bookstore, which serves both as a community resource and a vital funding source for our programs. The bookstore not only encourages a love of reading but also directly supports our educational initiatives.

At the heart of our success are volunteers—especially our dedicated tutors. These individuals commit just two hours per week, on non-consecutive days, to work one-on-one with students. Their support is crucial in helping learners gain the confidence and skills necessary to achieve their educational goals.
The need for volunteer tutors is ongoing, as we serve a diverse population with varied learning needs.

By contributing their time and expertise, tutors play an essential role in helping students—whether they are preparing for a career change, improving their communication skills, or pursuing personal growth.

We invite the community to join us in our mission. Whether by volunteering, supporting our bookstore, or spreading awareness, every contribution makes a meaningful impact. Together, we can build a more literate, empowered, and successful Chautauqua County.
