Lakewood Memorial Library Strategic Plan 2023-2026

Our Mission

To help community members of all ages improve their quality of life by providing access to materials and services that meet their personal, educational, and professional needs.

Library Policy

Lakewood Memorial Library has established rules of conduct and guidelines to protect the rights and safety of all Library visitors and staff and to preserve the Library’s materials, equipment, facilities, and grounds.  Staff will enforce these rules in a fair and reasonable manner in order to make the Library a clean, safe, comfortable place for everyone.
Please:
-Treat staff and other library users with courtesy and dignity.
-Refrain from behavior or speech that could be distracting, disturbing or offensive to other library users.
-Speak quietly and keep any conversations short.
-Treat library materials, furniture, and equipment with respect.
-Parents or care-givers must supervise their children in the library and take responsibility for their behavior. Young children should at all times be under close visual supervision and not disturbing other library users.

The Library Board sets policies. The Library Director supervises implementation of policies and procedures. Any suggested changes to either should be brought to the Director for consideration and approval before implementation.

As a public institution serving a diverse community, we hold the health and safety of our patrons as a top priority. As such, and in consideration of the current rise in COVID-19 cases in the area and current high level transmission rate in the county according to the CDC, at the direction of the Library Board of Trustees, we will be requiring masks inside the library building for everyone over the age of two (2).

If you are unable to wear a mask, we offer Curbside Delivery daily & At-Home Delivery (Thursdays only). For our programming offerings, we will make accommodations as able, including participation outside on our terrace (weather permitting) and simulcast on Zoom.

If you have any concerns or are in need of these accommodations, please contact our Director at 716-763-6234 or director@lakewoodlibrary.org.
