The Lakewood Memorial Library welcomes a mixed media exhibit by local artist Terrie Johnson for the month of May.

Artist statement:

Arts, Crafts and Hobbies are tools that I have used for as long as I can remember. The more accurate word would be friends, that I have relied on. Whether it is Photography, Water Color, Hucking, Woodwork, Sewing, Bookbinding, Paper Making, or others there are always new areas to explore. You don’t have to be an expert to enjoy the process. Sometimes the goal is to share, but sometimes it is just for the maker.

Like many of you I have found the last four years to be filled with challenges. My Family has experienced great loss, dealt with serious health issues, financial challenges as well as other topics we all are struggling with. Along with leaning into my faith I have relied on my old friends to help reduce stress and to find strength and comfort. This exhibit includes a few of the many examples that have helped me, and perhaps will inspire others to explore them also. Please feel free to contact me at the email below with comments, questions or thoughts. You can also find me at meetings of the Chautauqua County Camera Club that generally meets the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 PM at the North Harmony Sr. Ctr. in Stow (all welcome). This month it will be the 2nd Thursday because of some complications. I hope you find some enjoyment in the exhibit and it encourages you to try some of these, or others, to find greater joy in this life we have!
